Pick pockets are everywhere as we all Know, especially in cities and crowded places but the Phenomena to hit London in recent years are some Eastern European Travellers that roam the streets some of whom are disguised by wearing Moslem traditional dress, to pick pocket and steal from Tourists and shoppers alike as well as in the shops , especially around the areas of Oxford street and Marble Arch.
Some will be begging with children in groups and then pick pocket as you go to give to them a few coins
Be diligent and report to shopkeepers and Police any incidents
The Underground is also another area to be extremly street wise,especially in rush hour when stations are crowded.
If you ever watched a UK series called Oxford Street you can see Security is high and there are lots of measures being taken to stop this and move beggars on. with high use of CCTV and plain clothed police officers, So this is one occassion it feels very re assuring to be watched !for the Public in general.
