For example, did you know?

• The Hotel Russell was the only hotel in the Fredrick hotel group not to be taken over by the war office in WWII
• There are four statues of Queens on the hotels exterior.  The four suites are named after them, Victoria, Elizabeth, Anne and Mary
• When the hotel was built it was one of the only buildings in the city that had the luxury (and it was luxury) of having rooms with en-suite bathrooms
• The hotel is home to ‘Lucky George’,   a resident bronze dragon who sits atop the 2^nd floor stairs.  Fitzroy-Doll, one of the most renowned architects of his time, had two dragons moulded: one went to Hotel Russell….the other is today 2.5 miles beneath sea level in the Atlantic Ocean aboard the remains of RMS Titanic
